Private A Brough lived in Hednesford Road, Heath Hayes. He enlisted with the 2nd South Staffordshire Regiment in February 1915. He was initially stationed in Loos, France but by the summer of 1916 he had been posted to the Somme and was injured at Delville Wood. Upon recovery he was sent to Ypres, then returning to the Somme sometime later, where he was once again injured. He was discharged in May 1919. He received the 1914-15 Star, General Service and Victory medals.
